Public bank (or any other companies doing this for the matter; be it kitco, UOB Singapore, Gold ETF etc.) will definitely buy from you, the only question is how much will they offer to buyback. If you check the numbers, there is usually a spread between the bank's buy price and sell price from the spot price. Sometimes, the spread can be pretty big.
